Bio:
I'm Anne-Marie Pollard-Vearnals, best known as Annie. I have a BA(Hons) in Glass and I have been driving trucks for Royal Mail for over 20 years. In my spare time I paint rocks, wild swim and run everyday. I'm always in training for a half or full marathon.
My love of football started at a young age when I was the only girl to play with the lads in the playground. Fast forward a few years and my daughter Anastasia expressed a wish to play. She joined the Signol Tigers for training as did many others. At the end of that first season I was asked to set up another team and so the Signol Panthers were born. We started with many under 9yr olds who were new to football so it really was a baptism of fire for us all. As we learned to play football the team also grew accepting players who had more knowledge of the game and this helped to knit the team together beautifully.
This is now our second season and we were recently promoted into Division 8 of EMJFL. The players and parents are an absolute wonderful bunch like a big family. It has been an honour to help the children learn not only how to play football, but to play as a team and to have fun. I'm lucky enough to have two coaches, Richard and Zac, both parents. Between us we are able to give show lots of energy, enthusiasm and determination which transfers straight into the team.

I joined the Signol family for the start of the 2023/24 Season after my son had been asked to be a GK for a new team. It’s fair to say it’s been a whirlwind experience! As a new, mixed ability team it took us a while to find our feet and it’s been an exciting journey so far.
We had a tough time of it that first season and it took time for the team to bond and the new skills from training to bed in.
Blessed with really strong support from Annie and Zac (Manager and Coach), our second season has seen great progress. We’ve managed to recruit some new players and seen the carefully planned training sessions make a real and noticeable difference. We’ve watched a group of great kids progress from ‘loving a kick about’ to demonstrating real skill that has already seen us get promoted mid-season.
I try to focus on making sure that the children are enjoying what they do; looking for opportunities to further develop their play and ensuring that they get to grow their love of football.
